Mugh/ Mushur Daal (Lentil) – 1 cup
Polau Rice – 2 cups
Peas + Cucumber – 2/3 cup
Onion – 1 large
Green Chili (or Jalapeño) – 1 or 2
Ginger – 1/3 tsp
Salt – as needed

Cumin – 1/4 tsp
Coriander – 1/4 tsp
Clove – 2
Turmeric – 1/3 tsp
Garlic – 1/2 tsp
Cooking Oil/ Ghee – 1/3 cup
Cardamom – 1



KhichuriFry mugh or mushur daal (dry-fry) till it is light brown. Now heat oil/ ghee in a pan and fry  rice for couple of minutes. Fry chopped (linear) onion. Cut Cucumber into very small pieces. Now mix rice, daal, onion, vegetables, all the spices, salt, and the rest of the oil in a rice cooker. Stir well for a very good dry mixture. Add 5 cups of warm/boiled water, put the lid on the cooker and turn it on. Add small-cut pieces of green chilies (or jalapeno peppers) after 10 minutes and stir. Then let the cooker continue cooking.

You may add other vegetables, such as Broccoli, Cauliflower, and Carrot.
